Submission Guidelines

1. Truth & Authenticity

Real Experiences Only: Only submit stories that are true representations of your personal experiences. Fiction or embellishments beyond honest recollections should be clearly indicated or avoided.
Accuracy: Please double‐check the factual elements (names, dates, locations) to ensure they are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

2. Original Content

Exclusive Material: The story you submit should be original content that hasn’t been published elsewhere in a substantially similar form.
Credit: If you are including quotes or short excerpts from other sources (with proper attribution), please cite them appropriately.

3. Relevance

Content Themes: Submissions should relate to real‐life "war stories" (challenges, unexpected events, triumphs) from industries such as media, field service, IT, military, education, community, travel, or similar sectors.
Series Category: If submitting as part of our "Series" category, your story should offer depth through interviews, detailed accounts, or multiple perspectives on the same event.

4. Tone & Style

Authentic & Respectful: Write in a voice true to your experience. While humor and candid expressions are encouraged, remain respectful to all parties involved.
No Defamation: Avoid language or claims that could be considered defamatory or overly disparaging of individuals, organizations, or companies.

5. Privacy & Consent

Anonymity Options: You may choose to remain anonymous. If you include details that might identify others, please ensure you have received their permission.
Personal Data: Do not include sensitive personal information (like phone numbers, addresses, or private email addresses) within your submission.

6. Formatting & Length

Word Count: Submissions should ideally be between 500 and 2000 words. Longer stories may be considered if they're well‐structured.
Structure: Organize your submission with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Use subheadings or bullet points where appropriate to enhance readability.
File Format: Submit your story in plain text or as a Word or PDF document if using an upload form. Standardize formatting where possible (consistent font and paragraph spacing).

7. Editorial Rights & Usage

Granting Permission: By submitting a story, you grant TrenchStories.com a non‐exclusive license to edit, publish, and promote your content across our platforms.
Attribution: Your submission will include your chosen name or pseudonym and any links you wish to include for personal or professional attribution.

8. Review Process

Moderation: All submissions are subject to review. TrenchStories.com reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, grammar, and flow, as well as to reject stories that don't meet these guidelines.
